OB Beer and Rafiq Showcase Zero-Waste Cosmetics at the 2023 Agricultural Expo

OB Beer has partnered with the green bio venture company Rafiq to unveil beer waste upcycled cosmetics at the 2023 South Korea Agricultural Expo. The expo, organized by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food, and Rural Affairs, is set to take place from September 14 to 17 at the aT Center in Seoul. OB Beer's booth will be located on the first floor.

Typically discarded or used only as animal feed, beer waste is actually rich in proteins, fibers, and vitamins. Rafiq has developed various zero-waste cosmetic products utilizing this byproduct. Among the showcased items are the "LalaBear Beer Waste Hand Cream," "Beer Shampoo," and "BrewBird Grain Scrub Bar." The hand cream packaging, in particular, uses FSC-certified eco-friendly paper, reducing plastic usage by approximately 42%.

The event aims to spread awareness about the multiple uses of beer waste and its positive impact on agriculture and environmental conservation. Both OB Beer and Rafiq plan to lead efforts in food, beauty, and fashion sectors to recycle beer waste, thereby reducing food waste and plastic usage.
