10. Remark
How is it made?
It is an ingredient made of a substance from fatty acids extracted by fermenting sugar cane. What is Butylene Glycol often used for?
It is mainly used as a moisturizer. Alcohol usually evaporates moisture on the skin quickly, but butylene glycol has a large molecular size unlike other alcohols, which attracts moisture. Therefore, when used as a cosmetic, it has the effect of making the skin soft and hydrated through moisturizing.
However, if we are talking about only moisturizing, in fact, there are many better ingredients than butylene gylcol.
Nevertheless, butylene glycol is preferred because it has great solubility that melts many ingredients mixed with other cosmetic ingredients together.
